An exciting extra to WSAVA 2015 through social outreach programs
WSAVA is dedicated to the continuing development of companion animal care around the world. WSAVA is a non-profit organization of 90 associations and represents approximately 180,000 veterinarians worldwide. WSAVA wants to increase the experience of the 2015 Bangkok World Congress with various outreach programs. These outreach programs allow the attendees of the Congress to have a one-of-a-kind experience in the country of origin of the Congress. The program will allow veterinary participants of the WSAVA World Congress to join local practices to help communities promote animal welfare through various outreach programs. The neutering projects and Elephant camp are made possible by an Educational Grant of Hill's Pet Nutrition.

The city of Tacloban was hit by Typhoon Haiyan in 2013. Haiyan was one of the strongest tropical cyclones ever recorded, killing at least 6,300 people in the Philippines. Its aftermath is still felt by the people and the animals of Tacloban.
